The Kay Wah Wah pedal is a vintage gem, renowned for its distinct and expressive wah-wah effect that captures the quintessential sound of the 1960s and 70s. That being copied or said the truth is a bit different. The pedal is a bit contra-intinutive in the “Zero” position it affects the volume of the signal, making it flatter and quieter, in the “full on” position it raises both the Volume and Gain, making the sound dirtier, more Driven. The movement is also spring driven, so it’s harder to operate, compared to the more common or modern pedals as the Dunlops Cry Baby.
That being said it’s an acquired taste, or something one has get used to with playing around. All in all is a piece of history, that we, guitar pedal horders have to have in our collection. It reaches prices to around 240 Euros on different sites, if you’re lucky enough to find one that is, since they are extremely rare and hard to come by.
